Tourism and suffering in Tamil Nadu

After one month of climbing between Hampi and Badami and two injured fingers, I leave some of my friends (including one who after two weeks of extreme fatigue discovered he contracted hepatite A, hop hop hop back to france) in Badami and jump in a train to reach Chennai were I was to meet my father and brother. So good to see family ! We decide to stay in the not so nice Chennai to do some yoga and after that the plan is to travel around Tamil Nadu to see many many temples active and abandoned. Of course my trip in India wouldn't have been complete without a good disease and I've been satisfied... Briefly after a basic throat infection and high fever I began to get pain in my wrist and then it extended to all my joints until being barely able to walk or to open a water bottle... Pretty scary to be honest and I was on the edge to go back to France but after a visit to one the best hospital in Madurai and a complete blood test the doctor explained me that these symptoms are still quite common in India...Crazy country.
Thankfully the comfort travelling (car with driver and nice hotels) with the family was more than welcome as well as the mental support :)
Beside this Tamil Nadu is a wonderful state, it is the most developed one in India and has many important active temples for Indians.
Our itinerary was Chennai – Mahabalipuram – Pondicherry - Chidambaram – Gangaikondacholapuram – Dharasuram – Tanjore - Rameswaram - Rameswaram – Madurai - Trichy - Tiruvanamalai - Kanchepuram.
Except a few places you never really feel like being in a touristic country, as usual cities are very noisy, dirty and with a lot of friendly and curious Indians !
